Bio
Hi! I'm Gabe aka Gabey Baby, a music producer/composer whose work has been featured on major TV networks including MTV, VH1, E!, TLC, Bravo, and Discovery. I specialize in making stylized hip-hop instrumentals that evoke a range of emotions, like drama, tension, excitement, curiosity, and comedy.
My music making journey started in my early teens, in the middle school band room. Originally picking up a horn instrument, I quickly switched over to drums/percussion because it looked alot more fun. Little did I know, I would soon fall in love with rhythms, grooves, and the pulse of every musical piece.
In high school, I began experimenting with beat-making on Ableton Live, and found my true passion, electronic music production. I was inspired by the beats from rappers like 50 Cent, Migos, Chief Keef, Juicy J, Waka Flocka Flame, and the early originators of Trap Music.
After high school, I pursued a college degree in Audio Production from American University, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree, and was awarded the sole "Outstanding Electronic Production" award for my graduating class. During this time, I worked as an audio engineer at Apex Sounds Entertainment, a recording studio in Washington, DC, collaborating with artists like Goonew, Spell Jordan, Q Da Fool, Big Flock, and Lil' Dude.
After college, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. I've been involved in several music education programs, worked at several recording studios, and have crafted over 2,000 original compositions. In July 2024, I got signed to Signature Tracks, a music library/production company that works closely with major TV networks to craft custom music. I've since secured 100+ placements across several TV networks, on shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Love & Hip Hop, Love After Lockup, and House Hunters.
Here on my website, you can license my music, download some of the sounds I use in my productions, find educational resources to learn music production skills, as well as book 1-on-1 time with me for music lessons, or consultations to help you on your own musical journey.
